Travelling to London in a group

If breakfast is essential then please mention it to us – despite all our apartments having kitchen facilities breakfast is included in the rates at some of our properties and provided for you if preferred.

It is worth noting that you can make considerable savings on corporate accommodation if you are bringing groups of staff to exhibtions or conferences, especially if they are weilling to share a room. And if you compare a double bedded hotel room with a one bedroom apartment (with twin beds in the bedroom and double sofabed in the living room), you will be easily able to accommodate four people rather than two in accommodation that is certainly not double the price!

All our properties either have washer/dryers in the apartments, the means to prepare meals, laundries within the properties or laundry services for guests so clean laundry will not be a problem.

We welcome groups coming to London for big musical and sporting events at the O2 and Wembley with apartments that are within easy walking distance of these and other major London venues and attractions. We offer apartments that are ideal for a weekend break close by.

Our larger apartments can accommodate up to 10 people so these may well be worth considering for larger family groups or if you are travelling to London with staff, nannies or chauffeurs.

You will see that all our apartments have kitchens so you can allocate a “dining” budget for breakfast and other meals – all our apartments are close to supermarkets so your staff or colleagues can buy what they need – and avoid running up exorbitant restaurant and bar expenses!

Companies who take stands at major exhibitions at venues such as Excel, Olympia and Earls Court often find that they can make enormous savings on staff accommodation expenses by taking one or more serviced apartments for their staff.  There are considerable cost savings to be made on group dining expenses.

We are delighted to offer visitors attending sporting events to our properties in Stratford. The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park plays host to a whole range of sporting extravaganzas, including diving, hockey and cycling, not to mention being the home ground for West Ham United Football Club, so please contact us if you are attending a sports event and we will be delighted to advise and help you. Groups travelling to sporting events particularly like the fact that they can eat and drink whatever they want whenever it suits them and they are able to relax in a private living room rather than in a large communal hotel room.

Meeting rooms are available at great rates at many of our residences and WiFi is standard. Of particular note is our Holborn property which is located very close to Holborn underground station and offers a selection of meeting rooms of various sizes. On top of this the residence has a breakfast/coffee area where refreshments are provided for guests. Apartments offered in this property include studios for 2 and one bedroom apartments to sleep 4 guests. There is a gym on site, making this a great destination for companies arranging corporate events where overnight accommodation is required.

Another good option we are delighted to have in our portfolio is south of the River Thames in London’s trendy Vauxhall. Offering free breakfast daily, on some weekday evenings the property also offers complimentary evening meals for residents – a chance to eat, meet and greet – great for those who wish to network while they are in town. As London is one of the largest European transportation hubs, it is very easy for groups to travel here. As England is an island, road access is more complicated but the Channel Tunnel serves us well! But it is very convenient to fly there or to take the Eurostar train coming from one of Europe’s major hubs. Or even take a boat!

Having a choice of 5 international airports (Luton, Stansted, London City, Gatwick and Heathrow), London is easily reached by air. The smallest airport, London City, is located closest to the city centre; and Heathrow, the biggest one, is just 15 minutes away by train shuttle.  Luton, Gatwick and Stansted are farther away and you may like to know that they welcome budget flight companies. It will take you between 40 minutes to 120 minutes to reach the centre from these airports, depending on which airport and how you decide to get to London from there (bus, train or taxi).  Coming by train is a good option as it only takes 2 hours and 15 minutes to reach the heart of the London city centre from Paris. It is good to note that Eurostar offers groups the option of taking a private carriage to ensure ease and comfort.  A car ride to London from France can be more complicated and requires using either the train (Eurotunnel) or the ferry (Britanny Ferries, Condor, DFDS Seaways). However this solution is good for groups carrying lots of luggage, especially for travellers coming from the coastal regions of Northern and Western France, where the ferries departure ports are positioned.
