The avenue was named after the barons who gathered here in 1263 to challenge the authority of King Henry III. A bus- or boat-ride away, 500-year-old Hampton Court Palace was once home to King Henry VIII, and offers a glorious palace and gardens, children’s activity area and famous maze. Marble Hill House and Sandycombe Lodge (once home to the artist JMW Turner) are a stone’s throw from our apartments, while Richmond has its own palace and a wealth of great architecture.
