Shopping gems of character and charm speckle the immediate map of Bloomsbury, with exquisite modern craft boutiques and interiors shops offering unique products you won’t find elsewhere, and high street fashion and lifestyle stores in the Brunswick Centre. Of course, independent bookshops are abundant here: try London Review for everything from classics to contemporary fiction (and a slice of cake while you’re at it!) or Persephone Books which reprints books mostly by women writers from the twentieth century. Nearby Soho also has great independent retailers, such as Alex Eagle Studio where you’ll find a beautifully honed edit of hand-selected fashion, furniture, art, design, photography, ceramics and rare books. Carnaby is one of London’s trendiest shopping destinations. Choose Love is so wonderfully innovative – here you can buy real items and life-saving interventions which will go to refugees and displaced people across the world.

Epitomising Bloomsbury’s beautiful kaleidoscope of cultures, history and philosophies, an eclectic mix of cuisines can be discovered near to our apartments. Oscillate between the informal coffees and cakes, the decadent French delicacies and the indulgent British dishes. Blending the hip, the fine and the wholesome, you will be spoiled for choice. Pancake fans should check out My Old Dutch, five minutes’ walk from our apartments, where sweet and savoury options are perfect for brunch or lunch. For dinner, try Mongolian-inspired Happy Lamb Hot Pot or Eastern Turkish cuisine at TAS Restaurant, both a short walk away. A feast for both eyes and stomach, Circolo Popolare on Rathbone Place brings a sunny Sicilian trattoria to London; the restaurant’s interior is lined with thousands of bottles of wine, while the terrace is perfect for summer evenings (oh and the Italian food on offer is just lovely!). Check out Wine & Charcuterie for a classy drink in unique surrounds – the bar is located in a refurnished Grade II listed Victorian water closet! Or head to Waxy O’Connor’s in nearby Soho; London’s biggest Irish bar is actually a labyrinth of four unique bars over six levels, with weekly live music.
